They were happy to go with exactly what I suggested, and not only that, but went back and forth many times as I nitpicked every detail of this cover. Lucy keeps her cravat on, thank you very much.Īnyway, my publisher is not like that at all. My worst nightmare was getting a book deal, but the publisher insisted on having a swooning lady on the cover, her cravat untied and her bosom trying to escape from her waistcoat. But a real looking solar sailing ship, not a sailing ship in space and not, much as I love it, the ship from Treasure Island. But I had a very clear image of what I wanted in my mind, something with a planet and a solar sailing ship. I appreciate it, but I can’t draw for beans and I’m not good at design either. I am really bad (like REALLY bad) at visual art. One of the things I’ve been most excited about with my debut release is the cover.
